Music on the Move secured funding from The Paul Hamlyn Foundation  to support the continuation of our Creative Music Learning project, but without age restrictions. so we were able to offer our services to under 16yr olds.  The funding was applied for after both Llandrindod and Builth Schools made a request for us to provide workshops that could take place within the music curriculum.

In Builth School we provided a series of workshops, i.e., djembe drumming, singing,  beat box and rapping, samba drumming and percussion.  These were provided for their year nine pupils.  The pupils’ co-ordination and concentration improved considerably over a short period of time.

We also carried out similar workshops in Llandrindod School, with the addition of Kora workshops.  These were so successful that we have continued to provide these workshops, with the school finding their own funding.   We have also provided djembe drumming and dance for their activity days in 2006 and 2007.
